DuPont Calls for Common Food Security Metrics

With an aim to increase the global food security, DuPont’s Global Food Security Index was launched by on July 10, 2012 in Washington. Ellen Kullman, the CEO and DuPont Chair said common food security metrics are necessary for moving ahead to ensure global food security. The Global Food Security Index was launched by Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

Global Food Security Index took into consideration multiple factors like availability, affordability, safety and quality of food in 105 countries. Also, it addresses the areas for changes and improvement. According to recent summits of G8 and G20, the top concern of various countries is global food security. The collaboration between EIU and DuPont occurred to ensure improvement in the quality of food and spread awareness about food security among governments and people.
